The social and socio-political embeddedness of COVID-19 vaccination decision-making: A five-country qualitative interview study from Europe.

The uptake ofCOVID-19 vaccines has varied considerably across European countries. This study investigates people's decision-making process regarding vaccination by analyzing qualitative interviews (n = 214) with residents from five European countries: Austria, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland. We identify three factors that shape vaccination decision-making: individual experiences and pre-existing attitudes towards vaccination, social environment, and socio-political context.

Antineoplastic potential and chemical evaluation of essential oils from leaves and flowers of Tagetes ostenii Hicken.

Breast and cervical cancer represent a major problem of women's global public health. Here, we investigated the chemical composition of essential oils from leaves and flowers of T. ostenii and the antineoplastic potential in a cervical cancer and breast cancer cell line, SiHa and MCF-7; and non-tumoral cells, HaCat.

The effect of prolonged steep head-down laparoscopy on the optical nerve sheath diameter.

Both the steep head-down position and pneumoperitoneum increase the intracranial pressure (ICP), and their combination for a prolonged period during laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) might influence the central nervous system homeostasis. Changes in optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) may reflect those in ICP. This study aims to quantify the change in ONSD in response to peritoneal CO insufflation and steep Trendelenburg position during LRP.

In Silico Prediction of Plasma Concentrations of Fluconazole Capsules with Different Dissolution Profiles and Bioequivalence Study Using Population Simulation.

A biowaiver is accepted by the Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) for immediate-release solid oral products containing Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS) class I drugs showing rapid drug dissolution. This study aimed to simulate plasma concentrations of fluconazole capsules with different dissolution profiles and run population simulation to evaluate their bioequivalence. The dissolution profiles of two batches of the reference product Zoltec 150 mg capsules, A1 and A2, and two batches of other products (B1 and B2; C1 and C2), as well as plasma concentration-time data of the reference product from the literature, were used for the simulations.
