Fluorinated Aliphatic Diazirines: Preparation, Characterization, and Model Photolabeling Studies.

The previously unknown difluoromethyl diazirines and the previously neglected trifluoromethyl-aliphatic diazirines were synthesized and characterized. Model photolabeling experiments and biological studies showed that these compounds could indeed be used as photoaffinity labels.

Long-path second-harmonic interferometer with nanosecond time resolution: reliable diagnostic tool for electron density measurement in pulsed plasma devices.

We describe the performance of a second-harmonic interferometer (SHI) to measure, on an optical path exceeding 12 m, the electron plasma density of two plasmoids formed in separate theta-pinch chambers and then merged in a central compression chamber after undergoing acceleration and compression. The excellent mechanical stability and a time resolution better than 50 ns suggest the application of SHI, especially in pulsed plasma devices with limited optical accesses.

A metric for the evaluation of dense vector field visualizations.

In this work, we present an intuitive image-quality metric that is derived from the motivation of DVF visualization. It utilizes the features of the resulting image and effectively measures the similarity between the output of the visualization method and the input flow data. We use the angle between the gradient direction and the original vector field as a measure of such similarity and the gradient magnitude as an importance measure.

Some reasons preventing realization of a principle of vocational training of the medical personnel of health service BC the Russian Federation, including the expense of insufficient efficiency of planning of formation are considered in the article.
