The therapeutic effectiveness of the pantothenic acid drugs: calciipantothenas and pantethine, was studied in 182 patients with coronary heart disease and stable angina of effort. It is shown that both the drugs produce favourable effects on certain parameters of hemodynamics, on the metabolism of lipids, riboflavin and ascorbic acid. It is recommended that the administration of calciipantothenas in a dose of 300 mg/day, during 3 weeks, be included into the combined treatment of coronary patients with no manifest disorders of lipid metabolism.

Investigations were conducted in two series of tests on 40 rabbits. In the first series a selection of the optimal dose of the vitamins was made and in the II series the action of the optimal dose of the biotin-pyridoxine complex was studied. Each test series included 2 control groups of the animals.

A total of 203 patients, 48 -- with ischemic and 155 -- with hypertensive disease in the 11A and 11B stages, were examined. The effect of lipoic acid (LA) was assessed on the ground of the dynamics in the clinical picture of the patients, some vitamins allowance figures and the activity of a number of enzymes in leucocytes, erythrocytes and in the blood serum. The LA was administered in the form of tablets, in a dose of 75 mg per day, for 10 dyas.
