The investigated microbial biomass affects the regulatory biochemical and physiological systems in experimental animals, normalizes activity of alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehide dehydrogenase, as well as the content of dophamine, disturbed under the effect of alcohol and morphine. There is more profound representation of the results obtained for the recent 5 years of the Department activity: phylogenetic classification of methylotrophic bacteria, biodiversity of microorganisms in the typical biotopes of the Antarctica, resistance of extremophilous Antarctical microorganisms to heavy metals, etc. A method of thermodynamic prediction of the microorganisms interaction with xenobiotics (synthetic organic compounds, toxical metals and radionuclides) has been developed for creating new universal nature-protective biotechnologies.
