The authors analyse different aspects of tracheoesophageal bypass with prosthesis, how to prolong operation of voice prostheses. It is shown that replacement of the prostheses is frequently necessary not because of wear but rather due to fungal or microfloral affection. Radiotherapy had no adverse effects on prosthesis.
