A syphilitic aortitis is a late cardiovascular lesion of tertiary syphilis that has become exceptionally rare in the antibiotic era but not eradicated completely. Syphilitic aortitis of ascending aorta complicates in ascending aortic aneurysm formation and aortic valve regurgitation, both requiring surgical treatment. Investigation into the functional activity of the acoustic and visual analyzer has been carried out before and after procedures of listening to one's own EEG of the temporal and occipital cortex areas. It has been shown, that there is a dependence of the dynamics of latent periods of sensomotor response to modality of stimuli and localization of source of the EEG acoustic image. After listening to acoustic image of the temporal EEG, a reduction of sensomotor reaction latency in the acoustic test has been observed.

Our previous study demonstrated a selective drop of pH, PO2 and blood flow in tumours under induced hyperglycaemia that enhanced the antitumour effect of hyperthermia. However, there are contraindications restricting the use of hyperglycaemia. Cryotreatment, as a method of altering tumour microphysiology similar to hyperglycaemia, was investigated.

The effect of the primary tumour cryodestruction on a degree of metastatic spreading in the lungs was investigated in experiments with C57B1/6 mice with Lewis carcinoma of the lungs. It is found that after the tumour cryosurgery there was a less quantity of metastases as compared with operated animals (surgical removal of the tumour or amputation of the limb with the tumour) or with untreated animals. A regular correlation is observed between the degree of metastatic spreading and the efficiency of the primary tumour treatment.
