Article Synopsis
  • Differentiating liver tumors is crucial for appropriate treatment and prognosis, but non-invasive methods often struggle due to overlapping features in imaging.
  • This study evaluated CT perfusion parameters in 48 patients to help distinguish hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) from other liver tumors, using statistical analysis to identify significant perfusion metrics.
  • Results indicated that blood volume (BV) was particularly effective in differentiating HCC from other tumors, achieving a sensitivity of 96.6% and specificity of 80% at a threshold of 8.3 ml/100 ml/min, alongside several other significant perfusion parameters.

A disease outbreak in 42-d-old black tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon juveniles from a commercial aquaculture farm in Kerala, India, was investigated. The cause of the disease outbreak was confirmed as Vibrio parahaemolyticus by biochemical tests, PCR targeting the toxR gene and pathogenicity testing of the isolates. All of the isolates tested negative by PCR specific for V.

Introduction And Background: Cleft lip and/or palate is the most common congenital craniofacial anomaly. Prenatal diagnosis of the craniofacial anomalies is possible with the advent of newer imaging modalities. The identification of the defect at an early stage in the pregnancy helps the parents to be well informed and counseled regarding the treatment possibilities and outcomes of cleft lip and palate (CLP) treatment.
