Experiments were carried out on 41 Wistar mail rats with body weight of 180 - 200 g. It was shown that in 'open field' the rats differed in the level of motional activity. Independently from level of locomotion investigated groups of rats were dissimilar at the criterions for "emotionality" and latent period of go out from the centr of "field".

Experiments were carried out on 24 month (mail, femail) old Wistar rats. It was shown that applications of 25% KC1 for 30 min on the frontal sections of the both cerebral hemispheres accompanied by a decrease in electrical activity of the cortical-subcortical structures, inhibition of the vegetative functions (heart rate) and emotional reactions of the different direction (positive, negative). The degree of manifestation and the character of the changes of the investigated parameters depended on the time of the reversible inhibition of the neocortex and on the age of animals.

It was shown that applications of 25% KCL solution on the frontal sections of the both cerebral hemispheres caused a decrease in the amplitude of the potentials and a reformation of the rhythms in the neocortex and subcortical structures. The degree of manifestation, the character and the direction of the changes in the emotional behaviour and vegetative functions (the heart rate) in the young animals with spreading depression in the cortex depended on the time of the reversible inhibition of the neocortex, the initial level of the emotional activity in rats, the type of their emotional behavior, and the functional (compensating) resources of the cerebral systems of the emotional reacting at the level of the cortex-subcortical and intersubcortical interactions.

It is shown that the 7-8 day stress induced profound changes in electrographic, emotional and vegetation reactions of rats. Disturbances induced by the stress are observed for a long-term poststress period.
