Article Synopsis
  • Accurate assessment of health risks from low-dose radiation relies on effective calculation of exposure estimates, which are verified with retrospective dosimetry methods.
  • A study compared calculated absorbed doses with those obtained through instrumental methods, specifically in residents of three Kazakh villages affected by nuclear testing in 1949, showing strong correlations between the two types of data.
  • The findings support the validity of the calculation method for estimating individual exposure and highlight the usefulness of additional data from soil contamination measurements for enhancing dose reconstruction.

Background: Pre-treatment of plant materials is essential in producing plant-based products and can affect their various organoleptic and physicochemical characteristics. This work aimed to study the effect of pre-treatment of vegetable raw materials, namely ultrasonic processing and freezing of raw materials under various low-temperature conditions, to obtain multiple types of vegetable milk and determine their characteristics.

Results: It is shown that by applying a certain kind of pre-treatment of vegetable raw materials it is possible to adjust organoleptic parameters and the content of solids, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber and mineral composition of various types of vegetable milk from soy, rice, oats, wheat, peas, buckwheat, pumpkin seeds and lentils.

Today, Sc is an attractive radionuclide for molecular imaging with PET. In this work, we evaluated a Ti/Sc radionuclide generator based on TEVA resin as a source of Sc. The generator prototype (5 MBq) exhibits high Ti retention and stable yield of Sc (91 ± 6 %) in 1 mL of eluate (20 bed volumes, eluent-0.

The nuclear accident occurred at Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) (March 11, 2011) similarly to the accident at the Chernobyl NPP (April 26, 1986) is related to the level 7 of the INES. It is of interest to make an analysis of the radionuclide composition of the fallout following the both accidents. The results of the spectrometric measurements were used in that comparative analysis.

Using electron microscopic techniques, we investigated bioptats of the ovaries of patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome after treatment with clostilbegit, which exerted only insignificant effects. We observed an increases in the intensify of proliferation of the connective tissue elements in the ovaries with the involvement of immunopathological processes against the background of tissue and circulatory hypoxia.
