Utilization of carbon dioxide (CO) as a C1 feedstock to synthesize value-added chemicals using a catalyst made from earth-abundant elements and under mild conditions is a sustainable approach toward carbon neutrality but difficult to achieve. Herein, the CoAlO/AlO composite catalyst is developed and used for the light-driven epoxide to value-added cyclic carbonate conversion using CO. CoAlO/AlO composite catalysts (% Co-AlO) are prepared by calcining cobalt-incorporated Al-oxy-hydroxide at 500 °C under an air atmosphere.

Background: Literature indicates that L-carnosine may be deficient in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children. The aim of the present study was to estimate the level of L-carnosine in plasma and correlate it with the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) and Childhood Autism Rating Scale 2nd Edition, Standard Version (CARS2-ST) scores. To measure L-carnosine level, a bio-analytical method was developed using reverse phase high- liquid chromatography and validated as per International Conference on Harmonization guidelines.

Lanthanide-based luminescent materials have gained huge attention due to their applications in optoelectronic devices, sensing, bio-imaging, anti-counterfeiting, and more. In this work, we report a luminescence-based sensor for the detection of tryptophan using orotic acid-capped Tb-doped CaSO nanorods (NRs). Orotic acid (OA) was found to play a dual role as a capping agent to control the growth of the nanorods and as a sensitizer for Tb ions.

Background: Drug-resistant tuberculosis is a growing public health threat, and early characterization of the resistance phenotype is essential for guiding treatment and mitigating the high mortality associated with the disease. However, the slow growth rate of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis, necessitates several weeks for conventional culture-dependent drug susceptibility testing (DST). In addition, there are no widely available molecular diagnostic assays for evaluating resistance to newer tuberculosis drugs or drugs with complex resistance mechanisms.
