Background: The efficacy of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) treatment, or stem cell treatment, directly depends on the SVF cell count and the cells' viability. The SVF cell count and viability are in direct correlation with the adipose tissue harvesting site that yields SVF cells, making this research a contribution to developing tissue guidance.

Introduction And Importance: A gallbladder volvulus is a rare medical condition requiring emergency surgery. There are 500 cases reported in the literature, and only 10 % have ever been diagnosed preoperatively. Gallbladder volvulus occurs when the gallbladder torts around the cystic duct and cystic artery resulting in occlusion of both structures and consequently, ischemia of the gallbladder.

There is increasing concern amongst stakeholders over the high numbers of unmatched Canadian Medical Graduates (CMGs), yet little is known from the perspective of those who go unmatched. We present an opinion-based narrative analysis examining the matching process by reflecting on the pre- and post-match period and provide suggestions related to the Canadian context from the unmatched perspective. The challenge in the pre-match period was a lack of transparency around elective availability, resident selection criteria, and what happens after going unmatched.

Background/aim: Pterygium is considered to be a degenerative disease of the conjunctiva, however, the presence of tumor markers in pterygium reinforces the hypothesis that this lesion is similar to tumor. Inactivation of p53 function removes an obstacle to increased proliferation. Factors affecting the prevalence of p53 expression in pterygium deserve investigation.
