Treatment of a Radiation-Associated Femur Fracture with an Intercalary Endoprosthesis: A Case Report.

Case: A 72-year-old woman with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the thigh received neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She underwent wide resection and was scheduled for prophylactic fixation of the femur. However, prophylactic fixation was deferred secondary to COVID-19 pandemic.

The role of the health sector in responding to energy hardship: An Australian perspective.

Energy hardship is increasingly recognised as a significant determinant of health, with evidence linking it to numerous negative health and wellbeing outcomes. The association between energy hardship and public health raises questions about what roles the health sector can or should play in addressing the issue. While there are limited examples in the literature, the role of health sectors to date has been predominantly as an intermediary connecting eligible individuals to energy hardship interventions, such as financial counselling and household upgrades to improve energy efficiency.

Importance: A wealth of research on screening for social risks in health care has emerged, but evidence is lacking on how social risk screening among physician practices has changed over time.

Objectives: To evaluate trends in screening for social risks among US physician practices and examine practice characteristics associated with adoption of social risk screening.

Design, Setting, And Participants: The main analysis used a repeated cross-sectional design to analyze results from US physician practices that completed the National Survey of Healthcare Organizations and Systems, a nationally representative survey of physician practices, in 2017 and 2022.

Objective: Sjögren's Disease (SjD) subjects have decreased lacrimal/salivary gland function. Studies have proposed that autoantibodies targeting G-protein-coupled muscarinic acetylcholine-type-3-receptor (M3R) are potential clinical markers for SjD. We hypothesized that rabbits/mice immunized with 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (HNE)-modified/unmodified Ro60 will develop an autoimmunity, specifically a SjD phenotype, thus expressing increased levels of anti-M3R antibodies.

However, rare naive B cells infrequently participate in immune responses.
