Parent-Adolescent Communication, Self-Efficacy, and Self-Management of Type 1 Diabetes in Adolescents.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate adolescent perspectives of parent-adolescent communication, type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM)-specific family conflict, self-efficacy, and their relationship to adolescent self-management of T1DM.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was employed. Adolescents completed measures of parent-adolescent communication, T1DM-specific family conflict, self-efficacy, and self-management, which included activation and division of responsibility for management tasks.

Exploring the quality of urban green spaces and their association with health: An epidemiological study on obesity using Street View technology.

Objectives: Evidence suggests that access to urban green spaces (UGS) may encourage physical exercise and impact nutritional status and health. Nevertheless, the quality of UGS is an understudied area. Novel digital tools allow the analysis of urban environments.

Memory-making interventions for children and their families receiving pediatric palliative or bereavement care: A systematic review protocol.

Background: In paediatric palliative and bereavement care, providing comprehensive support that extends beyond medical treatment to address the emotional and psychosocial needs of children and their families is essential. Memory-making interventions play a critical role in capturing cherished moments and fostering emotional resilience. However, widespread consensus on the foundation and scope of memory-making interventions for children and young people remains sparse.

Self-reported attention and responses to cigarette package labels at the end of a two-week randomized trial of cigarette package labeling configurations.

Introduction: Cigarette package inserts that describe quitting benefits and tips may promote cessation; however, research is needed to understand better their effects, including potentially enhancing the effects of pictorial health warning labels (PHWLs).

Methods: A randomized trial with a 2×2 factorial design was conducted with adult smokers (n=356) assigned to either small text-only health warning labels (HWLs; control); inserts with cessation messages, and the small text-only HWLs (inserts-only); large PHWLs (PHWLs-only); both inserts and PHWLs (inserts + PHWLs). Participants received a 14-day supply of their preferred cigarettes with packs labeled to reflect their group.

Timing of infant mortality in French Guiana: The persistence of high post neonatal mortality.

Background: Infant mortality in French Guiana, a French overseas territory, is 2.7 times greater than in mainland France. Given the importance of better understanding infant mortality we aimed to describe the early & late neonatal, and postneonatal mortality in French Guiana between 2007 and 2022.
