Unbiased criteria (Lissajous figures, entropy, and harmonic spectra) have been developed to estimate the transition from an unordered to an ordered motor activity of olfactory cilia, which occurs by the action of odorants on flagellata.

[Operational experience of disinfection service of Novosibirsk region with liquidation of the avian flu foci in Kupinsky, Zdvinsky and Dovolensky regions in August, 2005].

Results of work of disinfection service using a complex of disinfecion's measures on a mode against virus infections are resulted. In view of absence now methodical normative documents on modes of disinfection in the centers of the bird's flu the recommendations on use of new disinfectants are made.

[Intestinal microvessels in patients of different ages after an appendectomy].

The numbers and diameters of microcirculatory bed vessels located in the wall of various regions of small and large intestine, were determined in 43 patients of lirst and second mature ages and in 19 aged and senile patients less than one year - more than ten years after an appendectomy. In was established that during the first year following the operation, the number of arterioles, capillaries and venules per standard area of the section in middle-aged patients was increased in the wall of caecum and ileo-caecal transition with a concomitant increase in the lumen of these vessels. These changes were most pronounced in capillaries, while arterioles were less affected.

[The use of the preparation Lomir in patients with arterial hypertension and postinfarct cardiosclerosis].

As many as 26 patients with arterial hypertension (AH) associated with postmyocardial infarction cardiosclerosis were examined for assessing the efficacy of a new preparation belonging to a panel of calcium antagonists, viz. isradipine (<> by SANDOZ). Of note, a positive result was observed in 88%, which fact was manifested by normalization of AH without any side effects.

[An evaluation of the hypolipidemic effects of lovastatin in primary hypercholesterolemia. A multicenter study].

In the multicenter trial, the hypolipidemic efficacy and adverse event profile of lovastatin were estimated in 294 patients with primary hypercholesterolemia. The mean baseline (on placebo) lipid and lipoprotein values were: total serum cholesterol (TC) 313 mg/dl, triglycerides (TG) 168 mg/dl, low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) 235 mg/dl, high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) 44.9 mg/dl.
