Background And Aims: Vedolizumab is s gut-selective advanced therapy that is safe and efficacious for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Once patients achieve successful induction, there is a risk of loss of response leading to eventual flare. We aimed to identify these predictive factors and develop a practical scoring system to determine the ongoing efficacy of vedolizumab.

Objectives: This study explored the prevalence and degree of misalignment between gastroenterologists and people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and investigated communication features related to misalignment.

Methods: A mixed-methods approach incorporated qualitative and quantitative analyses of consultations and post-consultation patient and doctor interviews. Gastroenterologists at two Australian teaching hospitals and IBD patients participated in this study.

Ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne illness that has been recognized as a source of human infection with increased incidence in the United States over the last decade. The usual presentation is with acute febrile illness, myalgia, malaise with confusion, and central nervous system abnormalities, along with laboratory data concerning transaminitis and hematological abnormalities. Though many complications have been associated with Ehrlichiosis, very few cardiac complications have been reported.

A treat-to-target strategy in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) involves treatment intensification in order to achieve a pre-determined endpoint.
