Acceptability of hepatitis C screening and treatment during pregnancy in pregnant women in Egypt, Pakistan, and Ukraine: A cross-sectional survey.

Chronic hepatitis C (HCV) in women of childbearing age is a major public health concern with ∼15 million women aged 15-49 years living with HCV globally in 2019. Evidence suggests HCV in pregnancy is associated with adverse pregnancy and infant outcomes. This includes ∼6% risk of infants acquiring HCV vertically, and this is the leading cause of HCV in children globally.

ORAL HYGIENE IN CHILDREN WITH DISTURBANCES IN TOOTH FORMATION WHO WERE AFFECTED AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE ChNPP ACCIDENT.

Objective: evaluation of oral hygiene to enhance the prophylaxis of complications specifically of dental caries inchildren with disturbances in tooth formation (DTF) who live on radiologically contaminated territories after theChornobyl NPP (ChNPP) accident.

Materials And Methods: Children aged 6-14 years (n = 1470) with DTF were the study subjects examined in 2012-2016. Among them there were (n = 528) residents of the zones III and IV of radiological contamination after theChNPP accident with 137Cs soil contamination density 1-15 Ci/km2.

Preeclampsia-associated homeostasis changes in pregnant woman after ART.

Objective: To determine the preeclampsia-associated features of homeostasis in pregnant woman after ART to clarify the possible mechanisms and factors of preeclampsia.

Design: A prospective study.

Setting: Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology, Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Kyiv, Ukraine.

[Effect of alkaloids from celandine on calcium accumulation and oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria depending on their DNA intercalating properties].

The effect of principal alkaloids (sanguinarine, chelerythrine, coptisine, chelidonine) of greater celandine Chelidonium majus L., as well as the alkaloids from Colchicum autumnale L. (colchicine and colchamine) on calcium accumulation and oxidative phosphorylation in rat liver mitochondria has been studied.

[Comet assay of DNA fragmentation: modification of silver staining for obtaining permanent preparations].

Modification of comet analysis is proposed for obtaining permanent preparations by DNA staining with silver compounds. The sensitivity of staining is similar to that observed at the treatment by ethidium bromide and other fluorochromes. The advantages of the method are stability of slides and possibility of their reinvestigation by light microscopy.
