Domain-specific vocabulary, which is crucial in fields such as Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing, requires continuous updates to remain effective. Incremental Learning, unlike conventional methods, updates existing knowledge without retraining from scratch. This paper presents an incremental learning algorithm for updating domain-specific vocabularies.

Lithium-sulfur batteries are limited by the high mobility of polysulfides in the electrolyte, which allows them to migrate from the cathode to the lithium anode. This is known as polysulfide shuttling and simultaneously diminishes the active material and poisons the anode. Various cathode additives have been shown empirically to mitigate this problem, although the mechanism is not often ascertained experimentally.

The eyes play a crucial role in vision and emotional expression, and their loss can profoundly affect appearance and psychological well-being. Eye loss may result from trauma, tumors, infections, malignancies, or congenital abnormalities. Surgical methods for removing an eye include enucleation, evisceration, and exenteration.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to identify the types of bacteria causing acute otitis externa (AOE) and their antimicrobial sensitivities in patients from a tertiary care center in North India.
  • Out of 66 patients, 50 samples tested positive for bacterial cultures, with gram-negative bacteria accounting for 60% and gram-positive for 40%, the most common being Pseudomonas aeruginosa (48%).
  • The findings emphasized the importance of regularly assessing bacterial flora and antimicrobial resistance to ensure effective treatment for AOE, as bacteria showed varying susceptibilities to different antibiotics.

The high theoretical energy density of metal-sulfur batteries compared to their lithium-ion counter parts renders sulfur-based electrode chemistries attractive. Additionally, sulfur is relatively abundant and environmentally benign. Yet, issues like the low conductivity of sulfur, polysulfide (PS) formation, and shuttling have hindered the development of sulfur chemistries.
