Assessment of awareness level of sexually transmitted disease/reproductive tract infection (STI/RTI) among people visiting district STI/RTI clinic Chamba, H.P.

Background: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and reproductive tract infections (RTIs) are significant public health concerns with widespread implications for individuals and communities. This research article aims to evaluate the awareness and practices regarding STIs and RTIs among individuals attending an RTI/STI clinic in a tertiary care hospital.

Methodology: It is a hospital-based observational study using a universal sampling technique.

A versatile beamline for performing reflectivity, fluorescence, and absorption experiments in the soft x-ray region of 100-1500 eV is commissioned on a bending magnet port of the Indus-2 synchrotron source. A high vacuum 2-axis reflectometer with x, y, and z sample scanning stages is installed. Application of stain of methylene blue as a diagnostic aid in the early detection and screening of oral cancerous and precancerous lesions.

Background: Periodic clinical examination of the oral cavity is the mainstay for the early detection of oral cancers which can be further aided by screening individuals with high-risk factors that will identify candidates who should receive treatment to prevent cancer progression and reduce patient mortality. Among the diagnostic tools, staining is advocated as a simple, inexpensive and fairly sensitive method.

Materials And Methods: The present study involved the examination of fifty patients suspected of oral malignant or precancerous lesions by methylene blue staining.
