The AP2/ERF family is one of the largest transcription factor gene families that are involved in various plant processes, especially in response to biotic and abiotic stresses. Complete genome sequences of one of the world's most important pulse crops chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), has provided an important opportunity to identify and characterize genome-wide ERF genes.

We generated expressed sequence tags (ESTs) by suppression subtraction hybridization (SSH) to identify differentially expressed genes in drought-tolerant and -susceptible genotypes in chickpea.

The gasoline components dispersed in the workplace environment have direct impact on human health because of their carcinogenic and mutagenic potential. The volatile portion of these compounds generally consists of a mixture of monoaromatics such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes and substituted benzene compounds. Investigation of levels of these chemicals at the petroleum liquid storage, and distribution facilities is of growing importance for assessing the occupational exposure of workers at these locations.

Each parameter requires some sort of instrument for its determination. Providing efficient instrumentation services to various departments of the Institute is an stupendous task.

In this study, a fast and efficient method is developed by selection of modified extraction apparatus and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-UV conditions for the determination of 2,4-D in soil samples. The method is applied to the study of soil samples collected from the agricultural field.
