Most commercial adhesives currently available pose significant environmental concerns due to the presence of contaminants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). To address this challenge, much research is being focused on developing water-based adhesives. Herein, we demonstrate that polymerisation of a natural polyphenolic compound (pyrogallol) with an amino-based ligand (tris(2-aminoethyl) amine) in water allowed for the development of a novel bioinspired water-based adhesive without involving VOCs.

Background And Aims: Cell culture is a fundamental experimental tool for understanding cell physiology. However, translating these findings to in vivo settings has proven challenging. Replicating donor tissue conditions, including oxygen levels, is crucial for achieving meaningful results.

Memory T selected cells (CD45RA/RO) as donor lymphocyte infusion are less capable of producing alloreactivity and graft versus host disease (GvHD) compared with naïve T cells. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of high-dose memory (CD45RA/RO) donor lymphocyte infusion (mDLI) after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). Indications for mDLI were "as needed" and "as prophylactic regimen.

Vulvar cancers are usually diagnosed at an advanced stage and require wide surgical resections in the form of vulvectomy. Immediate vulvar reconstruction can potentially reduce the reoperation rate and postoperative complications. With this objective, we introduced a protocol for immediate vulvar reconstruction.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers studied COVID-19 effects on patients with blood cancers in Spain between February 2020 and October 2022, focusing on trends during the Omicron variant.
  • They found that older patients and those with other health issues had a higher chance of severe illness, but overall severity and death rates dropped during the Omicron period, especially for vaccinated individuals.
  • Even though the risk of dying from COVID-19 has lowered, patients in hospitals, especially older ones, still have a high risk, and more research is needed on treatments for these patients.
