Characterization of Silver Nanowire Layers in the Terahertz Frequency Range.

Thin layers of silver nanowires are commonly studied for transparent electronics. However, reports of their terahertz (THz) properties are scarce. Here, we present the electrical and optical properties of thin silver nanowire layers with increasing densities at THz frequencies.

[Evaluation of the effectiveness of rectal suppositories containing a dense extract from licorice roots at the stage of spa-and-resort rehabilitation of patients with chronic infectious prostatitis].

The objective of the present paper was to evaluate the effectiveness of Suppeksol rectal suppositories applied either as a self-contained therapeutic means or in combination with natural spa-and-resort factors for the rehabilitative treatment of patients with chronic infectious prostatitis. It is shown that Suppeksol suppositories containing a dense extract from licorice roots have beneficial effect on all systems and organs affected by pathological processes associated with chronic prostatitis especially when applied in combination with natural spa-and-resort factors.

Prognostication criterion of potential and practical use of analytical reagents in titrimetria of individual substances.

Various possible criterion in titrimetric methods have been discussed in this paper and more informative, visual and universal criterion-the degree of proceeding of individual reaction at the equivalence point have been chosen. The equation for the degree of proceeding of individual analytical reaction suited for any chemical reactions under real conditions with an allowance made for both component and titrant concentration have been deduced. This criterion allows us to make a prognosis of any parametres of a titrimetric procedure of an individual substance determination and the procedure as a whole, not having carried out the experiment.

[The therapeutic activity of melatonin and its effect on immunological parameters of patients with eczema].

Regular administration of epiphyseal hormone melatonin in patients suffering of eczema provides for a better clinical result than the traditional treatment. This is confirmed by clearly pronounced normalization of the immune state of the patients.

Modeling of thermal skin injury for the development of local treatment drugs.

The paper describes simple and reliably reproducible methods of inducing superficial and deep skin burns (both infected and non-infected) in rats, which model IIIa and IIIb degree burns in humans. These methods reduce the costs and accelerate the development of local preparations.
