Attributional style in fist episode of schizophrenia and schizophrenia spectrum disorders with and without paranoid ideation.

In the present study we evaluated attributional style which refers to how individuals explain the causes for positive and negative events in their lives in patients with first episode of schizophrenia with and without paranoid ideation. 43 patients with first episode of psychosis and 37 matched normal controls completed Ambiguous Intentions Hostility Questionnaire (AIHQ) (Combs et al. 2007).

[Treatment of calculous cholecystitis and its complications].

Results of treatment of 10,724 patients with different forms of acute and chronic cholecystitis are analyzed. Surgical treatment was performed in 7819 (72.9%) patients.

[Obliteration of gallbladder lumen in patients with high operation risk].

The paper presents pilot results of clinical application of developed experimintally method of treatment for acute cholecystitis based on demucosation of the gall-bladder followed by obliteration of its lumen. Two modifications of the method-treatment of mucous membrane of the gall-bladder by phenol emulsion (16 patients) and electrocoagulation of the mucosa (49 patients)--were used with good clinical results in patients with high operation risk. Laparoscopic diagnosis of acute appendicitis in women.

Study Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopy in confirming the diagnosis of acute appendicitis, to distinguish between acute surgical and gynecologic pathology, and to establish indications for surgical intervention.

Design: Assessment of 1000 consecutive emergency diagnostic laparoscopies.

Setting: A state university hospital in Moscow, Russia.

[The effect of reaferon and alpha-tocopherol on lipid peroxidation in experimental influenza].

Reaferon administered to outbred young mice with experimental influenza had a positive effect on morphologic changes in pulmonary tissues and on lipid peroxidation in the blood plasma and pulmonary tissues. Combined use of reaferon and alpha-tocopherol in mice infected with influenza A virus reduced the mortality rate, boosted the antiviral effect of reaferon proper, and led to virtually complete normalization of lipid peroxidation processes in the blood plasma and pulmonary tissues.
