A new method is offered for surgical treatment of senile central chorioretinal dystrophy consisting in trephination of the sclera and implantation into subtenon's space of a strip of collagen hemostatic sponge. The author claims that this operation promotes development of true collagen bonds between extra- and intraocular circulation schemes. An original method of drug administration into the zone and of implant fortification to prolong the action thereof is described.
