Use of Adjuvant Compositions Based on Squalene Ensures Induction of Neutralizing Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2.

Squalene-based adjuvant compositions that can provide effective induction of specific humoral immune response have been developed. Recombinant receptor-binding domain (RBD) of surface S-protein of SARS-CoV-2 was used to evaluate the properties of the composition. Immunization of mice with the developed squalene-based compositions in combination with RBD allows obtaining high titers of specific antibodies: from 10 to 2×10.

Oxygen-Containing Quaternary Phosphonium Salts (oxy-QPSs): Synthesis, Properties, and Cellulose Dissolution.

In the present study, the synthesis of oxygen-containing quaternary phosphonium salts (oxy-QPSs) was described. Within this work, structure-property relationships of oxy-QPSs were estimated by systematic analysis of physical-chemical properties. The influence of the oxygen-containing substituent was examined by comparing the properties of oxy-QPSs in homology series as well as with phosphonium analog-included alkyl side chains.

Devonian geoheritage of Siberia: A case of the northwestern Kemerovo region of Russia.

Southern Siberia demonstrates significant richness of the geological environment, but its uniqueness remains known poorly. Four geosites represent sections of Givetian-Famennian (Middle-Late Devonian) deposits formed in the tectonically active zone where small terranes accreted with the Siberian continent. There, carbonate deposition in tropical conditions prevailed and rich ecosystems evolved.

Conductive Mediators in Oxidation Based on Ferrocene Functionalized Phosphonium Ionic Liquids.

Herein, the synthesis of ferrocene-containing salts is presented. Acylation of ferrocene (Fc) according to the Friedel-Crafts method led to ω-bromoacyl ferrocenes. The ω-bromoacyl ferrocenes were subsequently introduced to quaternization reaction with tri--butyl phosphine, which resulted in phosphonium salts.

The Covid-19 pandemic and food consumption at home and away: An exploratory study of English households.

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed attitudes of English households towards food consumption at home and when eating out. Little academic research has however examined the scope and the scale of these changes, especially in the context of foodservice provision. This mixed methods study explores the effect of Covid-19 on food consumption in English households at home and away.
