Gastroduodenal bleeding is one of the most challenging issues in surgery nowadays. The crude mortality rate due to severe blood loss in gastrointestinal bleeding is very high. Therefore, the use of medications to prevent severe blood loss and protect cells from the harmful effects of hypoxia should be the focus of attention in these conditions.

This therapeutic policy stops cross-over contamination of fat spaces of the neck, mediastinum, tracheobronchial tree; reduces cost of therapy; facilitates cleansing of foci of purulent surgical infection; shortens time to reconstruction for soft tissue defect of the neck.

In the experiment on 144 mongrel dogs and 546 white rats the methods of ozone therapy and hydropressive treatment of the abdominal cavity have been worked out. These methods were used in the treatment of 94 patients aged from 13 to 89 years with severe forms of acute peritonitis. The control group consisted of 174 patients with peritonitis.
