Wildfires in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone (CEZ) and other radioactively contaminated areas threaten human health and well-being with the potential to resuspend radionuclides. Wildfire behavior simulation is a necessary tool to examine the efficiency of fuel treatments in the CEZ, but it requires systematically updated maps of fuel types and canopy metrics. The objective of this study was to demonstrate an effective approach for mapping fuel types, canopy height (CH), and canopy cover (CC) in territories contaminated by radionuclides using Landsat time series (LTS) and Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) LiDAR observations.

A clinical case of late neurosyphilis with prominent cognitive function failure developed in a young male patient is presented. Atypical disease development and negative laboratory tests required to perform the differential diagnosis with inflammatory and degenerative brain diseases, extended blood and CSF tests for syphilis. During the diagnostic procedures the patient received complex therapy with neurotropic, antioxidant, and anti-dementia drugs.

Purpose of the work was to study pharmacokinetics of beta adrenoblocker propranolol, and hemodynamic indices in volunteers for simulation of some effects of microgravity The study involved 8 essentially healthy subjects and the head-down tilt (-80) bedrest model reproducing the effects of microgravity (BD). This was designed as three series of investigations, i.e.

As the level of interest in aging research increases, there is a growing number of geroprotectors, or therapeutic interventions that aim to extend the healthy lifespan and repair or reduce aging-related damage in model organisms and, eventually, in humans. There is a clear need for a manually-curated database of geroprotectors to compile and index their effects on aging and age-related diseases and link these effects to relevant studies and multiple biochemical and drug databases. Here, we introduce the first such resource, Geroprotectors (http://geroprotectors.
