End-of-program predictive examinations have been in existence in nursing education for over 10 years. Nursing schools have used these examinations to prepare students on the testable content from National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), which has been delivering the NCLEX-RN since 1994. Differences in clinical practice and training in rural versus urban areas have been established, but less is known about OM versus inner metropolitan (IM) differences - whether they offer a trainee learning experience of populations with distinct demographics and healthcare characteristics. The Clinical Judgment Registered Nurse Readiness Examinations (CJE-RN REs) have been adopted by nursing schools for the last 5 years.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to validate the use of the CJE-RN REs by examining the relationship with first-time pass rates among nursing students.
