We report an eight month old infant who presented with incessant Fascicular tachycardia and heart failure which was refractory to drugs and cardioversion. Sinus rhythm was restored by radio frequency ablation and this resulted in improvement in clinical status and cardiac function. Role of catheter ablation in this situation is discussed.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: During repair of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), when a transannular patch is needed in case of a small annulus and dysplastic pulmonary valve, we chose to reconstruct the right ventricular outflow tract by augmenting the divided anterior leaflet with an extracellular matrix (ECM) patch to produce a competent valve. In this study, we present our preliminary experience and early outcomes.
Methods: From March 2013 to December 2015, of the 206 patients who underwent primary repair of TOF, 52 required a transannular incision.
Background: Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a congenital heart defect that leads to shunting of blood between left and right atria. It may be asymptomatic and sometimes may present with heart failure. Surgical repair is definitive, but currently non-surgical procedure is used to close the defect.
