Unlabelled: Data from low and middle-income countries (LMICs) on multidrug-resistant microorganisms (MDROs) in intensive care units (ICUs) are scarce. Working in several ICUs in Argentina, we sought to estimate the prevalence and characteristics of MDRO infections and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE) colonization. Mortality associated with MDRO infection was also evaluated.

Introduction: Acute undifferentiated febrile illnesses are fevers lasting less than fourteen days without an evident focus of infection on the initial physical examination or with inconclusive laboratory tests.

Objective: Carry out epidemiological surveillance of the etiology of acute undifferentiated febrile syndrome in the Meta department.

Methods: A descriptive, prospective cross-sectional study was carried out between February 2021 and June 2023 in a first-level hospital in the department of Meta, Colombia.

Background: Informational integration and differentiation of the cortex can be tested by methods such as the perturbational complexity index (PCI) combined with TMS-induced activity perturbation. The PCI is obtained by stimulating the cortex with TMS and measuring the resulting spatiotemporal cortical responses with high-density EEG.

Methods: We have compared PCI between 26 patients with schizophrenia (15 males), 15 of them First Episode (FE) (7 males), and 22 healthy controls (12 males).

Objectives: To establish whether the risk of psychotic disorders in cannabis users changes with time following cannabis cessation using data from the European Network of National Networks studying Gene-Environment Interactions in Schizophrenia (EU-GEI) case-control study.

Methods: The EU-GEI case-control study collected data from first episode psychosis patients and population controls across sites in Europe and Brazil between May 2010 and April 2015. Adjusted logistic regressions were applied to examine whether the odd of psychosis case status changed: (1) with time following cannabis cessation and (2) across different cannabis use groups.

A theoretical description of various [AeX] (Ae = Be-Ba, X = F-I) systems, some of which have been reported in the literature to bear an unusual quadruple bond between the metal and the halogen, is provided based on both (i) the localization of the Fermi hole and (ii) the topological analysis of the one-electron density. Insights into the bond order of various [AeX] systems are inferred on the basis of the number of electrons localized in the bond basin, the topology of the Fermi hole information computed along the bond axis, and the delocalization index. The results suggest that the [AeX] molecules present a bond with attributes closer to a classical dative bond than to a multiple one, being characterized by large stabilization due to the electrostatic interaction between the polarized metal and the halogen anion.
