Objectives: Opioid use disorder (OUD) remains a common cause of overdose and mortality in the United States. Emergency medical services (EMS) clinicians often interact with patients with OUD, including during or shortly after an overdose. The aim of this study was to describe the characteristics and outcomes of patients receiving prehospital buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid withdrawal in an urban EMS system.

Objectives: Opioids kill tens of thousands of patients each year. While only a fraction of people with opioid use disorder (OUD) have accessed treatment in the last year, 30% of people who died from an overdose had an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) encounter within a year of their death. Prehospital buprenorphine represents an important emerging OUD treatment, yet limited data describe barriers to this treatment.

Introduction: The influence of hippocampal connectivity on memory performance is well established in individuals with high educational attainment. However, the role of hippocampal connectivity in illiterate populations remains poorly understood.

Methods: Thirty-five illiterate adults were administered a literacy assessment (Test of Functional Health Literacy in Adults [TOFHLA]), structural and resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging, and an episodic memory test (Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test).

π-π stacking interactions are versatile because they are involved in many processes, such as protein folding, DNA stacking, and drug recognition. However, from the point of view of crystal engineering, there is an incipient knowledge of its exploitation. A comparison of these interactions with hydrogen bonds shows a huge difference in their employment as a reliable non-covalent interaction.

Purpose: To analyze the effect of disinfectants on the roughness and mechanical properties of CAD/ CAM polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) dentures.

Materials And Methods: Two groups of denture base resins were tested-heat-polymerized and milled blocks. For each resin, 120 specimens were produced for flexural strength (FS) and flexural modulus (FM) analyses (total: 240 specimens), and 40 were produced for microhardness and surface roughness evaluations (total: 80 specimens).
