Clinical application of the UroLift® prostatic urethral lift in Spain: consensus on the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with urinary flow obstruction and secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is an increasingly common pathology in the adult male. BPH increases after the age of 40-45 years, and its management consumes an enormous amount of resources. The UroLift® System is an approved technology designed to treat lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to BPH and is used to perform the prostatic urethral lift (PUL) procedure.

Objective: Urinary tract obstruction is one of the most prevalent diseases in urology. The handling of it includes conservative (analgesia and fluid therapy) and invasive (urinary diversion) measures. Ureteral stent is the method currently employed for urinary tract diversion.

Hypebaric oxygen treatment in urology.

Objectives: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) has been successfully used in several disorders derived from tissue hypoxia, due to the extra oxygen supply to the tissues it enables. In this manuscript we performed a systematic review including all the existing data published until 2010 about HBO in urologic disorders.

Methods: We performed a Medline search using the terms "hyperbaric oxygen", "radical cystitis", "interstitial cystitis", "hemorrhagic cystitis", "urological/pelvic fistula"and "Fournier's gangrene".

[Radiofrequency ablation as an alternative treatment for organ confined renal tumor].

Introduction: We report our early clinical experience associated with radiofrequency (RF) ablation in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and evaluate the efficacy, tolerability and complications.

Material And Methods: Retrospective review of patients treated in our hospital with kidney ecoguide RF. All of them diagnosed with renal tumor and not candidates for surgery because of bilateral tumor, significant comorbidity or refusal to surgical treatment.
