This study aims to understand nutrition-related roles, responsibilities and ethical issues of grandparents caring for their grandchildren in skip-generation households in rural Cambodia. Over the past decade, Cambodia has experienced a rise in economic migration of working age populations. This has resulted in increasing numbers of 'skip-generation' households, in which grandparents and grandchildren co-reside without parents, reflecting potential household vulnerability.

Small RNAs (sRNAs) are loaded into ARGONAUTE (AGO) proteins to induce gene silencing. In plants, the 5'-terminal nucleotide is important for sRNA sorting into different AGOs. Here we show that microRNA (miRNA) duplex structure also contributes to miRNA sorting.

An analysis of 158 completed esophagoplastics has shown that necroses of the transplant made their appearance in 7.8% of cases, fistulas of anastomoses--in 38%. The basis of pathogenesis of these complications is microthromboses of venules and small veins of the intramural blood circulation of the mobilized small intestine transplant (syndrome of local hypercoagulation).
