[Morphology of the lungs during various periods of artificial ventilation after surgical correction of heart disease].

The lungs of 84 patients dying following radical corrections of their congenital or acquired heart diseases were examined. The dynamics of the morphological changes developing in the pulmonary tissue depending on the duration of artificial pulmonary ventilation in the postoperative period is described. The pathogenesis of pulmonary complications of long-term artificial ventilation of the lungs is suggested.
