[Effect of vitamin D correction on insulin resistance in patients with coronary heart disease and metabolic syndrome].

The aim of the article was to study vitamin D level, carbohydrate metabolism and insulin resistance in 135 patients with ischemic heart disease, stable angina FC II-III. The investigation detected hypovitaminosis D among 91.9 % of patients.

[Occurrence of markers, distribution of genotypes and risk factors for viral hepatitis C among some groups of the population in the Novosibirsk region].

The occurrence of markers, genotypic variability of isolates and risk factors for viral hepatitis C (HCV) were studied in 4 groups of residents of the Novosibirsk region (altogether 2,000 persons). Anti-HCV IgG were detected within the range from 4.6% among medical personnel to 48% among the patients of the drug-abuse clinic.

Influence of fluorapatite minor additions on behavior of hydroxyapatite ceramics.

Fluorinated hydroxyapatite is known to be less soluble by body fluids, resulting in enhanced resistance to biodegradation in vivo conditions, as compared to the pure hydroxyapatite ceramics. The present work was aimed at the investigation of the effect of minor additions of ultrafine fluorapatite (up to 10 wt%) on the sintering behavior and mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite ceramics. In vitro testing for the osteoblast-like cells viability and proliferation was performed with the samples of varying fluorapatite content.

[Connection between severity of the course of tick-borne encephalitis with the concentration of interleukin-2 and interleukin-6 in blood].

Aim: To test IL-6 and IL-2 serum concentrations as indirect prognostic indicators in tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) course.

Material And Methods: 13 TBE patients' sera were examined for IL-2 and IL-6.

Results: IL-6 was not detected in patients with TBE fever but was detected in meningoencephalytic TBE.

[Effect of non-steroid anti-inflammatory and glucocorticoid agents on development of gastrointestinal lesions in patients with rheumatic diseases].

A comparative evaluation was done of frequency and severity of upper gastrointestinal mucosal lesions in patients taking nonsteroid antiinflammatory drugs (NSAID) and glucocorticosteroids (GCS).
