The paper presents experimental findings of the kinetics of current and voltage of a self-contained electric stimulator (SCES) of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) with 12X18H9 stainless steel electrodes in 1% HCI solution (which mimics gastric juice). The structure and parameters of a dynamic SCES model are electrochemically considered. The model adequately describes experimental findings and may be used to generate capacity and Faraday components in the electrostimulation current at the electrode-electrolyte borders in order to evaluate the delivery of trace elements, which are deficient in the body, from the SCES electrodes into GIT on electrostimulation.

The paper outlines a distributed self-contained gastrointestinal electrostimulator model that considers current distribution in the electrolytic environment and electrochemical polarization inhomogeneity over the surface of cap electrodes. The model is satisfactory in describing the experimental data obtained for electrodes made of the stainless steel 12X18H9 in 1% hydrochloric acid solution (that mimics gastric acid) and may be useful in evaluating the performance of and in optimizing the self-contained electrostimulator with the electrodes covered by different materials.

The research of a stationary and anode corrosion and of the anode/cathode polarization of electrodes, made from 12X 18H9 steel, of an autonomous electrostimulator of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), demonstrated a practical possibility of using this steel to make electrodes for studies involving operations with the GIT aggressive medium.
