Treatment of climacteric symptoms with an ammonium succinate-based dietary supplement: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

Peri- and postmenopausal women commonly suffer from climacteric symptoms. We evaluated the effectiveness and safety of dietary supplement Amberen to relieve vasomotor and psychosomatic symptoms during the course of a 3-month, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. General clinical assessment, evaluation using the Greene climacteric test and Spielberger-Hanin test, determination of plasma levels of gonadotropins, estradiol, leptin and apolipoproteins were used to evaluate 42-60-year-old women with vasomotor and psychosomatic menopausal symptoms.

[The role of innate immunity system in the course of adenomyosis].

The investigation of leukocytic elastase (LE) and alpha1-proteinase inhibitor (alpha1-PI) from patients with different stage adenomyosis and in control group was found activation innate immunity system in all the patients with adenomyosis. The degree of LE activity is a prevalence rate of adenomyosis. The degree of alpha1-PI activity is correlated with antiproteolytic potential that blocks the effects shown by LE.

Study of Candida albicans strains isolated from women with various forms of vaginal candidiasis.

Adhesive activity of Candida albicans towards vaginal epitheliocytes is hormone-dependent. Two types of C. albicans adhesins sensitive to polyphenyloxidase and asparaginase were detected.

[Immunohistochemical examinations of dyskeratosis and exocervical neoplasia in gynecological pathology].

An immunohistochemical study was carried out with monoclonal antibodies to estrogen receptors (Ers), Ki-67, BCL-2, P53 and human papillomaviruses (HPV) of normal cervix (7 cases), cervical leukoplakia (5 cases), CIN I (7 cases) and CIN II-III (6 cases). Correlations were also investigated between hyperestrogenemia and molecular changes in the exocervix. About two thirds of patients with leukoplakia and precancerous changes had clinical signs of hyperestrogenemia which led to proliferation of estrogen-sensitive parabasal cells.
