Patient engagement and technology use for healthcare are important for optimal care. This study was designed to leverage technology in education among the adult joint population based on their engagement capacity and utilization of technology for care. The purpose of this mixed methods study was to solicit information from Community Health Workers (CHWs) in order to further understand reasons for Healthy Start participants becoming lost to follow-up after delivery. Four CHWs from a local Healthy Start Program completed questionnaires for participants in their caseloads who had become lost to follow-up from the program (n = 146) between Sep 2018 and Jan 2020. The questionnaire included open ended items about ease of contact before and after delivery, changes in contact information, compliance with prenatal care visits, other life challenges (such as housing, legal, transportation, and family support), family size, living arrangements, working/student status, and substance use.

Public health care providers typically struggle with the need to meet demand for services, within a limited budget. This paper describes an analysis of a large public hospital, using the Theory of Constraints' (TOC) comprehensive set of mapping tools to logically represent a problematic situation and investigate options for resolution. Based on the symptoms present, root causes and conflicts were identified, along with potential solutions.

Mast cells play a critical role in the innate immune response to bacterial infection. They internalize and kill a variety of bacteria and process antigen for presentation to T cells via MHC molecules. Although mast cell phagocytosis appears to play a significant role during bacterial infection, little is known about the proteins involved in its regulation.
