Liver Transplantation for Dengue-induced Acute Liver Failure.

Although liver involvement has been observed in over two-third cases of dengue viral infection, less than 1% cases progress to dengue-related acute liver failure (D-ALF). Various aspects of management of this disease remain debated including the need and timing of liver transplantation (LT). Moreover, the outcomes of LT for D-ALF have been suboptimal.

Comparative study on conventional and phase change material (PCM) based solar desalination still using low-pressure water as a heat storage medium.

Over the years, solar desalination is a renewable energy-driven method to produce freshwater from saline/ brackish water. Since solar radiation is available only in the daytime, many studies have been undertaken to store solar energy using phase change material (PCM). The aim of this study is to compare the two solar stills (still I as a conventional solar still and still II as a PCM-integrated solar still).

Role of Combined CT Pulmonary Angiography and Indirect CT Venography in Diagnosing Venous Thromboembolism in COVID-19 Patients - Experience From an Indian Quaternary Centre.

Objectives: To study the role of combined CTPA and indirect CT venogram to diagnose venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia and to compare the clinical characteristics, laboratory parameters, CT findings and clinical outcomes between the VTE positive and negative groups.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 131 patients with COVID-19 pneumonia who underwent CTPA and venogram between August 2020 and January 2021 were included. Relevant demographical, clinical and laboratory data and CT images were collected.

Reducing Pediatric Emergency Department Prescription Errors.

Background: Prescription errors are a significant cause of iatrogenic harm in the health care system. Pediatric emergency department (ED) patients are particularly vulnerable to error. We sought to decrease prescription errors in an academic pediatric ED by 20% over a 24-month period by implementing identified national best practice guidelines.
