Electro-Clinical Features and Functional Connectivity Analysis in SYN1-Related Epilepsy.

Objective: There is currently scarce data on the electroclinical characteristics of epilepsy associated with synapsin 1 (SYN1) pathogenic variations. We examined clinical and electro-encephalographic (EEG) features in patients with epilepsy and SYN1 variants, with the aim of identifying a distinctive electroclinical pattern.

Methods: In this retrospective multicenter study, we collected and reviewed demographic, genetic, and epilepsy data of 19 male patients with SYN1 variants.

[Use of neurodevelopmental disorder screening tool in primary care : A multicenter observational study].

Introduction: Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) affect 5 to 15% of the population. Improved management largely depends on early detection in primary care. A screening tool was developed by an expert consensus and its use has been recommended since 2019.

Effect of desipramine on patients with breathing disorders in RETT syndrome.

Objective: Rett Syndrome (RTT) is a severe neurodevelopmental condition with breathing disorders, affecting around one in 10,000 female births. Desipramine, a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor, reduced the number of apneas in Mecp2-deficient mice, a model of RTT. We planned a phase 2 trial to test its efficacy and its safety on breathing patterns in 36 girls with RTT.

MOG antibody-related disorders: common features and uncommon presentations.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibodies (MOG-Ab) have been reported in acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis (ADEM), optic neuritis (ON), and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) in adults and pediatrics. We aimed to delineate the common features of MOG-Ab-related disorders in children and adults, and report uncommon presentations. Twenty-seven consecutive pediatric and adult patients testing positive for MOG-Ab, with a minimum follow-up of 6 months, were included.
