Determining the thermal profile of ignition is important because the desired ignition behavior varies with the objective. For example, extended ignition prolongs the time that the engine runs; however, fast ignition offers a higher power gain. The pollution caused by undesirable chemical reactions, as determined by the ignition profile, is another important aspect.

We present a framework for the kinematics of a material body undergoing anelastic deformation. For such processes, the material structure of the body, as reflected by the geometric structure given to the set of body points, changes. The setting we propose may be relevant to phenomena such as plasticity, fracture, discontinuities and non-injectivity of the deformations.

In recent few decades numerical treatment has become a standard tool in the system analysis and investigation of complex chemical reactions networks of reacting flows. The information about certain networks of biochemical reactions constantly increases. This leads to detailed descriptions of biochemical processes as a system of differential equations of high complexity and dimension.

The long-term results of treatment in patients with different clinical forms of sarcoidosis were studied, by using both prednisolone and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). No therapeutic measures were implemented in some patients. The total number of patients was 1587; the time of a follow-up was 2 to 10 years after completion of treatment or, in the latter's absence, after detection of the disease.

In electrically non-excitable cells the predominant mode of calcium signaling is a biphasic rise in cytosolic calcium concentration. It results from Ca(2+)release from intracellular stores, followed by Ca(2+)influx across the plasma membrane. It has been hypothesized that prolonged calcium influx may result in a sustained local elevation of the cytosolic calcium concentration near the plasma membrane.
