Background And Objectives: Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has been reported as a complication after pancreatic surgery. The aim of this study is to assess this phenomenon in a Belgian population, specifically in a period in time when less perioperative chemotherapy was given.
Methods: We performed a retrospective monocentric cohort study with 124 selected patients who underwent pancreatic surgery - pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD), distal pancreatectomy (DP) or total pancreatectomy - between 2005 and 2014.
Based on the well-known Poisson (P) distribution and the new generalized Lindley distribution (NGLD) developed by using gamma () and gamma () distributions, a new compound two-parameter Poisson generalized Lindley (TPPGL) distribution is proposed in this paper and thereon systematically explores the mathematical properties. Closed form expressions are assembled for such properties including the probability generating function, moments, skewness, kurtosis, etc. The likelihood-based method is used for estimating the parameters followed by a broad Monte Carlo simulation study.

Methods: Prospective review analysis with no follow up from 2006 to 2007 of 42 regularly transfused thalassemics aged 10-25 years (27 boys, 15 girls) was done. Anthropometry, pubertal stage and symptomatology were noted.
