The prevalence of threatened miscarriage in Malta.

A retrospective cohort study was conducted in Malta to assess the prevalence of threatened miscarriage. The study focuses on cases managed at a local state hospital over a 12-month period. Currently, data on pregnancies prior to 22 weeks' gestation are not publicly available, which hampers understanding of the frequency and impact of threatened miscarriage.

'Just knowing it's there gives me comfort': Exploring the benefits and challenges of autism alert cards.

This study looks at how people use and feel about autism alert cards, which help Autistic people communicate their diagnosis/identity. We surveyed 272 Australian people, including 136 Autistic adults, 128 parents of Autistic children and eight Autistic children. About half of the participants used the card after ordering it, mostly in public places such as public transport, healthcare settings and in retail settings.

Background: Despite the desire of many autistic adults to live independently, recent studies suggest that only about one in six autistic adults do. This includes living alone, with a partner, or with friends. This is a rate that is lower than adults with other disabilities.

Context: The Neurotracker CORE assessment is an 8-minute multiple object tracking (MOT) program used in sport science research and clinical rehabilitation as a perceptual-cognitive training tool; however, it has garnered interest for its potential use as an acute assessment of cognitive performance. Although some data exist regarding the learning effect of repeated exposures, it is often overlooked with investigators focusing primarily on the presence of transfer effects to other cognitive realms. As a result, exclusive data on the effect of repeated testing, or subsequent periods of no testing (ie, detraining) on test-retest reliability, and on MOT performance are sparse.

Assessing the predictive value of first trimester ultrasound and biochemical markers in miscarriage: A scoping review.

Introduction: Vaginal bleeding in the first trimester of pregnancy generates anxiety and uncertainty for expecting parents. The ability to determine pregnancy outcome through a first trimester ultrasound scan remains a challenge in obstetrics. Several first trimester ultrasound markers used individually or in combination, as well as ultrasound markers used in combination with biochemical markers, have been studied to determine their predictive value in pregnancy outcome.
