An ultra-thinned groin flap for reconstruction of complete digital ring avulsion injuries.

In complete digital ring avulsions, amputation is usually carried out when replantation of the avulsed tissue is not an option or has failed. The purpose of this study was to report our experience in treating Urbaniak Class III degloved fingers using an ultra-thinned pedicled groin flap. Sixteen patients from ages 11 to 26 years were included.

[The wrapping induced membrane technique for treating recalcitrant non unions].

The induced membrane technique is now well accepted for reconstruction of segmental bone defect. On the other hand, some cases of aseptic non-union are unsuccessfully treated by several surgical attempts for obtaining bone healing. The two stages wrapping induced membrane technique was developed initially for treating atrophic and recalcitrant aseptic non union without bone loss.

Complete ring finger avulsion: Review of 16 years of cases at a Hand Emergency Unit.

Replanting complete ring avulsion injuries remains a challenge for hand surgeons. The prognosis depends on achieving satisfactory function. We present the results of our 16 years' experience with managing this type of injury.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional outcomes and complications after surgical management of isolated, closed fractures of the proximal phalanx (PP) of the hand (thumb excluded). Surgical management was indicated in 87 PP fractures.

Purpose: Reduction and fixation of proximal humerus fracture (PHF) by intra-focal distraction with a cemented device is seldom used. A cementless stem called JUST was developed to simplify and standardise reduction and fixation of three- or four-part fractures (3-/4-PFs). This study is designed to evaluate the performances of this device.
