[Optimal system of operating the MPU-D-02 machine for washing and disinfection of nursing care equipment].

The authors review different designs of the nozzles for washing assemblies and the possibilities of their use in a washing machine during the washing of bedpans, child pots and urinals. Define optimal variants of the nozzles and their distribution relative to a bedpan and a urinal. Delineate the effect of tap water pressure and temperature on the quality of contamination wash-out from medical appliances as well as tap water consumption required for different designs of the nozzles at varying water pressures and temperatures.

[Criteria for evaluating and choosing a method of drying medical objects after steam sterilization].

The dependence is derived to determine the duration of drying process for medical products in the course of steam sterilization. The drying index for assessing efficiency of different drying techniques is proposed. With the index, the most useful drying technique can be selected, and the duration of drying process can be determined.

[Hydrotherapy equipment].

A flow-chart is developed demonstrating the relation between medical and prophylactic institutions within the organizational structure of the rehabilitation system and main types of rehabilitation procedures. In order to ascertain the priority in equipping rehabilitation services with adequate hardware the special priority criterion is introduced. The highest priority is assigned to balneotherapeutic and fangotherapeutic services.

[Improved schedules for steam sterilization of rubber medical products].

The effect of residual air concentration in a sterilization chamber and of technique of its removal on the heating rate of an object are studied as well as the effect of packaging density on the process of air removal and on the object's warming up. The following rubber medical products have been used as objects: surgical gloves, drainage and connecting tubes, and stoppers. The studies make it possible to define the gravity-fluctuation technique as the optimum one for air removal, and the optimum loading density of sterilization boxes that ensures the object sterility.

[A device for controlling the sterilization process].

The method and the unit for handling the sterilization process in devices of the forced circulation are proposed. The unit ensures adequate sterility of medical products irrespective of the load of the sterilizing box.
