Soluble fragment of HER2/neu receptor in the serum of patients with breast cancer with different levels of this protein expression in the tumor.

Serum level of soluble HER2/neu in patients with tumors characterized by high expression of this protein (2+/3+ according to immunohistochemical analysis) was significantly higher than in patients with low expression of HER2/neu and in women with benign diseases of the mammary glands. The level of HER2/neu in the serum decreased after removal of the primary tumor in the majority of patients.

Expression of biomolecular markers (Ki-67, PCNA, Bcl-2, BAX, BclX, VEGF) in breast tumors.

We carried out a retrospective immunohistochemical study of Ki-67, PCNA, Bcl-2, BAX, BclX, and VEGF expression in tumors of two groups of breast cancer patients with favorable and unfavorable course of the disease. Considerably enhanced VEGF expression was detected in tumors of patients with early relapses of breast cancer. High VEGF expression was paralleled by high level of Ki-67 and PCNA expression in tumors.

[Treatment of ununited fractures and pseudarthroses of long tubular bones complicated by suppurative infection].

The work is based on the analysis of examination and treatment (external +transosseous osteosynthesis) of 172 patients with ununited fractures and false joints of the long tubular bones complicated by purulent infection and posttraumatic osteomyelitis. All patients were divided into 4 clinical groups according to the activity of the purulent wound infection and choice of the surgical tactics. Some risk factors were taken into consideration in choosing the tactics of treatment and predicting the outcomes.
