Clinical Outcomes of Arthroscopic Adhesiolysis: A Case Series of 40 Patients With Postoperative Knee Stiffness.

Introduction Restricted range of motion over the knee joint is a known complication following the surgical procedure. Aggressive rehabilitation protocols can initially manage knee stiffness due to arthrofibrosis. If conservative management fails, surgical (open or arthroscopic) release is the preferred modality of management.

Dose Adjustment of Stimulants for Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: A Retrospective Chart Review of the Impact of Exceeding Recommended Doses.

Background: When children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are treated with stimulant medication, the dose is established clinically by dose adjustment over time. Little is known about children who are not adequately treated when they reach a designated maximum dose, or the consequences of exceeding this dose.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of and side effects observed in children optimised to high dose (HD) versus regular dose (RD) stimulants.

Local structure around Mn and Co in LaMn(1-x)Co(x)O(3 ± δ): an EXAFS study.

Detailed investigations of extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) associated with the K-edges of Mn and Co have been carried out for LaMn(1-x)Co(x)O(3 ± δ) (0.3≤x≤1) compounds. It is found that the local structure around Mn is different from that around Co.

Arthroscopic removal of intraarticular fragments following fracture dislocation of the hip.

We report here a case of posterior dislocation of hip with fracture of posterior lip of acetabulum, with retained fracture fragments after a successful closed reduction. The fractured fragments were removed by arthroscopy of the hip. The technique of hip arthroscopy used in removing the fragments is discussed.

Stem cells in orthopedics: current concepts and possible future applications.

Stem cells are the cells that have the ability to divide for indefinite periods in culture and to give rise to specialized cells. Sources of these cells include embryo, umbilical cord and certain sites in adults such as the central nervous system [CNS] and bone marrow. Its use hold promise of wide spread applications particularly in areas of spinal cord injury, difficult non-unions, critical bone defects, spinal fusions, augmentation of ligament reconstructions, cartilage repair and degenerative disc disorders.
