Huntington's disease (HD) is an incurable hereditary disease caused by expansion of the CAG repeats in the gene encoding the mutant huntingtin protein (mHTT). Despite numerous studies in cellular and animal models, the mechanisms underlying the biological role of mHTT and its toxicity to striatal neurons have not yet been established and no effective therapy for HD patients has been developed so far. We produced and characterized a new line of dermal fibroblasts (HDDF, Huntington's disease dermal fibroblasts) from a patient with a confirmed HD diagnosis.

We study the motion (translational, vibrational, and rotational) of a diatomic impurity immersed in an electron liquid and exposed to electronic current. An approach based on the linear response time-dependent density functional theory combined with the Ehrenfest dynamics leads to a system of linear algebraic equations, which account for the competing and counteracting effects of the current-induced force (electron wind) and the electronic friction. We find and emphasize the coupling between the center of mass motion and that of the nuclei relative to each other, the feature due to the mediation of the two-body interaction by the environment.

The possibility of controlling the porosity and, as a result, the permeability of fibrous non-woven fabrics was studied. Modification of experimental samples was performed on equipment with adjustable heating and compression. It was found that the modification regimes affected the formation of the porous structure.

A new technique of additive prototyping filament volumetric nanostructuring based on the high-speed mechanical mixing of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) copolymer granules and single-walled carbon nanotube (CNT) powder (without prior dispersion in solvents) is considered. The morphological spectra of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of nanostructured filament slice surfaces were obtained and characterized with the original mathematical simulation. The relations of structural changes in the "ingredient-matrix" polymer system with dielectric and mechanical properties of the ABS-based filaments were established.

A 63-year-old symptomatic female with apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and diastolic disfunction was admitted to the hospital. What is the best way to manage this patient? This study is a literature review that was performed to answer this question. The following PubMed search strategy was used: 'Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy' [All Fields] OR 'apical myectomy' [All Fields], NOT 'animal [mh]' NOT 'human [mh]' NOT 'comment [All Fields]' OR 'editorial [All Fields]' OR 'meta-analysis [All Fields]' OR 'practice-guideline [All Fields]' OR 'review [All Fields]' OR 'pediatrics [mh]'.
