An eight-year-old child presenting with increased thirst, raised intracranial tension and visual deterioration was diagnosed with synchronous suprasellar and pineal lesions, for which she underwent partial resection of the suprasellar lesion. Histopathological examination suggested pure germinoma. Tumor marker evaluation showed significantly raised levels of beta human chorionic gonadotropin (βHCG), favoring a non-germinoma germ cell tumor (NGGCT), leading to a diagnostic dilemma as the histology and βHCG levels were contradictory.

- A study of 32 patients revealed that most cases with TERT mutations and additional molecular changes were malignant, particularly high-grade thyroid carcinomas (HGCs).
- Isolated TERT mutations were more likely linked to benign tumors, while cases with multiple mutations were predominantly associated with malignancy, especially high-grade forms.
Early detection can significantly reduce mortality due to lung cancer. Presented here is an approach for developing a blood-based screening panel based on clonal hematopoietic mutations. Animal model studies suggest that clonal hematopoietic mutations in tumor infiltrating immune cells can modulate cancer progression, representing potential predictive biomarkers.

Although small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are known to mediate cell-cell communication, the role of sEV signaling via mitochondria in perpetuating asthmatic airway inflammation is unknown.
Objectives: We investigated the effects of MDRC-derived exosomes on dysregulated T cell responses in asthmatics.
