Weissella, a genus of lactic acid bacteria, has diverse beneficial attributes including probiotic activity and biotechnological applications. Therefore, the investigation of the Weissella genus has garnered growing interest. In this study, we sequenced the complete genome of Weissella paramesenteroides UFTM 2.

DICER1 syndrome is an autosomal-dominant disorder that results in malignant or benign tumors. A number of distinct pathogenic germline and somatic variants have been identified as causing multinodular goiter (MNG). The purpose of the present study was to identify and characterize the genetic cause underlying the familial form of MNG through a whole-exome sequencing (WES) analysis in an Argentine family with three affected siblings.

This article aimed to analyze whether the domains currently proposed in the competencies of the specialty are reflected in the professional practice of those interviewed.

Postbiotic Effect of Escherichia coli CEC15 and Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 on a Murine Model of 5-FU-induced Intestinal Mucositis.

Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, can bring health benefits to the host. Most of these organisms are found naturally in the human gastrointestinal tract. Escherichia coli strains Nissle 1917 (EcN), and CEC15 have shown beneficial effects in murine models of intestinal inflammation, such as colitis and mucositis.

COVID-19 pandemic and the neurodevelopment of Brazilian infants: Analysis of predictors according to the Nurturing Care Framework.

Introduction: Concerns have been raised about the potential negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on child development; this issue can be analyzed using the Nurturing Care Framework (NCF).

Objective: To analyze the predictors of neurodevelopment at 12 months in infants born during the pandemic in Brazil, according to the NCF.

Methods: It is a longitudinal case-control study involving 284 infants born between April and August 2021.
