Background: Oral treatment alternatives for febrile urinary tract infections are limited in the era of increasing antimicrobial resistance. We aim to evaluate if the combination of pivmecillinam and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid is non-inferior to current alternatives for step-down therapy in adult patients with febrile urinary tract infection.
Methods: We plan to perform an investigator-initiated non-inferiority trial.
Context: Nutritional interventions may benefit cognition in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). However, evidence is yet to be synthesized in a way that can inform recommendations for clinical and public health settings.
Objective: To systematically review evidence on the effect of dietary patterns, foods, and nutritional supplements on cognitive decline in individuals with MCI.
Introduction And Hypothesis: Women with missed obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIs) are at an increased risk of anal incontinence. Our aim was to assess the accuracy of three-dimensional (3D) transperineal ultrasound (TPUS) compared with clinical examination for detecting OASIs.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of women undergoing their first vaginal delivery.
Syndromic testing for lower respiratory tract infections with BioFire® FilmArray® Pneumonia Panel Plus (BF) detects 27 pathogens with a turn-around-time of one hour. We compared the performance of BF with culture. Samples from 298 hospitalized patients with suspected pneumonia routinely sent for culture were also analyzed using BF.
